About me

Hi, I’m Carmen, a midwife of 9 years and a Mum of 4 little people.

Becoming a mum for the first time is an emotional journey.  Knowing what to expect and having support through friendships and health professionals has made this parenting journey a beautiful thing.

Being a practicing midwife and a Mum of four has taught me that no two women or babies are the same.

In the last nine years I have worked as a LMC midwife in Auckland, a core midwife in the birthing unit at Middlemore and most recently at Tauranga Hospital. I have had experience with everything from normal, low risk births to very complicated, high risk births.

I've witnessed almost every birth scenario in my professional life and have had four very different personal birth experiences and have four children that have different parenting needs.

Whether you want a home birth or caesarean section, want to breastfeed or bottle feed, want to co-sleep with your baby or have them sleep in their own room, I will provide you with the latest research and information to equip you to make the right choices for you and your family.

My wish is that you walk away from our Hatched On Location or Online Antenatal classes feeling confident, supported and prepared for your birthing journey.
